CPE ISW Press Release

REDSTONE ARSENAL, AL – The Army announced the award of five standalone Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements to Ideas, Commitment, Results (ICR) (18.8M), Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR-Kord) (22.4M), Northrop Grumman-Xetron ($6.9M); Raytheon ($7.6M) and Systems & Technology Research, LLC (STR) ($10.9M) to develop and deliver prototypes for Electromagnetic Warfare systems. The agreements are for an 18 to 20-month period of performance.

These efforts will support the Army’s counter surveillance and reconnaissance (CSR) initiative which is designed to protect Army forces from a wide range of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) threats.

Rapid development will culminate with planned field experimentation and exercises. During this phase, warfighters and evaluators will assess the prototypes for their effectiveness, suitability, survivability and potential for rapid scaling into production.

“The exponential growth in the space domain is assured to continue in the future. Non-kinetic effects will support establishing and retaining freedom of maneuver to preserve combat power,” said Kent Shea, Product Manager for Tactical Space Superiority (PdM TSS).  “The Army space vision requires the Service to operate in Space to ensure ground maneuver commanders maintain a decisive operational advantage. By securing the high ground of the space domain, the Army delivers critical multi-domain effects that safeguard friendly forces and neutralize space-based threats to land operations.”
